I am working on a project that I am very excited about. I have decided to try and write a self-help book about anxiety. The premise is a daily readings book for anxiety sufferers. My working title is Coping with Anxiety: One Day at a Time.

I have done some research, at the book store and online, and can not find another book of this type on the market at all. I have a list of topics (not quite reaching 365 yet...) and plan to start writing on them later today (ah, the happiness of the Boss being out of the office for two whole days!).

When I first thought about this project a few years ago, my therapist was encouraging and agreed to be a co-author. I see her today and I am trying to go into the meeting with my ducks in a row to show her that now I am really serious about getting this project off the ground.

Under the cut is a draft of my proposal letter to Hazelden Publishing. They are the publishers of many self-help books, including the Hazelden Meditations series, which includes, among others, Food for Thought by Elizabeth L. This is the book that inspired me to do this for anxiety sufferers.

I would like to open this up for discussion to my flist, as I regard you all as very literate, intelligent people, whose opinions I trust. Please rip apart the letter, if you are so inclined and let me know what you think about the project in general. Do you think it'll fly?
